Madi Malone and the Lady Norsemen traveled to Earlville to not only take care of business within their own conference but to prepare for their weekend down in Mt. Pulaski. For the girls for Newark, that meant they needed to hit the ball well, work on their passing, and put serves in for points consistently. Newark did just that, winning the match in two straight, 25-10, 25-15.
Malone was dominant, pounding down 14 kills, no errors, hitting at an astounding .636 for the evening. Along with her kills, Malone had 2 aces (5 for 5 from behind the line), 5 digs, and a block. Mattie Chapman had 8 kills, 3 blocks, 3 digs, and an ace. Taylor Christian had 22 assists, 4 aces on 100% serving, and 3 digs. Megan Williams had 4 blocks, 5 digs, 2 kills, and an ace on 5 for 5 serving. Meggie Scott added to her all-time high digs by leading the Norsemen with 8 for the night. KJ Friestad and Naomi Sweeney were perfect from the service line and each had 3 digs. Cassidy Adams added a couple of aces and digs for the final stat line.
