The record that has been held for nearly a decade by Newark Alumni, Sam Eddy, has been overcome by Newark's single-season digs record-holder, Meggie Scott.  Scott, who plays Libero for the defending State Champion Lady Norsemen, was able to dig out her record-breaking dig (#1,242) against Thornton Fractional North (aka TF North) with the score 21-4 in the first set.  Scott ended the match with 14 digs.

Scott has 285 digs her Freshman season, 359 during her Sophomore year, 543 last season to break the single-season record, and now has a total of 86 digs for the first 8 matches of the year during her Senior campaign.

Congratulations to Meggie Scott for her great accomplishment!
